Director Ayumu Watanabe discusses working with composer Joe Hisaishi, and his stylistic approach to Children of the Sea
In his first time working on a feature-length animation since Studio Ghibli’s The Wind Rises and The Tale of The Princess Kaguya, renowned composer Joe Hisaishi joined the Children of the Sea creative team. The latest feature from Japan’s cutting-edge animation house STUDIO4°C (Tekkonkinkreet, MFKZ, Mind Game), Children of the Sea is a stunningly beautiful adaptation of Daisuke Igarashi’s prize-winning manga.
