GKIDS AND SHOUT! FACTORY PRESENT ANOTHER DAY OF LIFE ON BLU-RAY™, DVD AND DIGITAL DOWNLOAD

GKIDS AND SHOUT! FACTORY PRESENT

THE CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED WAR DRAMA

ANOTHER DAY OF LIFE

ON BLU-RAY™ + DVD FEBRUARY 18, 2020

AVAILABLE DIGITALLY ON FEBRUARY 4, 2010

“…not just another war-is-hell story, but a powerfully thorny war-journalism-is-hell tale too.”

– Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times

“A visually striking piece of rare immediacy and power”

– Jonathan Holland, Hollywood Reporter

GKIDS and Shout! Factory present the award-winning war film Another Day of Life on Blu-ray™ + DVD on February 18, 2020, and digitally on February 4, with bonus features including a making of featurette, a piece on creating the animated characters, and trailers.

An official Cannes selection and winner of festival prizes and awards worldwide, Another Day Of Life is a daringly ambitious dive into the chaos and carnage of war, based on the book by the journalist Ryszard “Ricardo” Kapuściński, one of the world’s most compelling chroniclers of conflict.

Intercutting a graphically bold animation style with interviews and archival footage, the visually striking film conveys a rare immediacy as it tells of the outbreak of civil war following Angola’s independence from Portugal in 1975. Against all advice, Kapuściński is intent on driving south into the heart of the bloody conflict to find the isolated rebel leader Farrusco. His animated trip through corpse-strewn roads conveys an undeniable urgency, while the documentary testimony reminds us that we are watching actual history.

Directed by Raúl De La Fuente & Damian Nenow, and written by Raúl De La Fuente & Amaia Remírez with Niall Johnson, David Weber, and Damian Nenow, Another Day of Life is an official Spanish-Polish-German-Belgian co-production.

GKIDS AND SHOUT! FACTORY PRESENT

BUÑUEL IN THE LABYRINTH OF THE TURTLES

(Buñuel En El Laberinto De Las Tortugas)

A deeply affecting and humanistic portrait of a legendary artist hunting for his purpose, the critically acclaimed animated feature Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles makes its debut as a Blu-ray and DVD combo pack November 12th, 2019 from GKIDS and Shout! Factory. Winner of the Jury Distinction Award at Annecy Film Festival and a Special Jury Award at the Animation Is Film Festival, the release also includes the feature-length documentary Buñuel’s Prisoners, as well as an interview with director Salvador Simó as bonus features. Fans can pre-order their copies now by visiting ShoutFactory.com

SYNOPSIS

Filmmaker Luis Buñuel is left penniless after the scandalous premiere of his film L’Age d’Or. However, his good friend, the sculptor Ramón Acín, buys a lottery ticket with the promise that if he wins, he will pay for Buñuel’s next film. Incredibly, luck is on their side, so they set out to make the movie, an unconventional documentary about the desperately poor Las Hurdes region in Spain. Buñuel’s initially callous approach to the extreme poverty and situations he encounters (or creates) gradually leads to a filmmaking experience that will transform him forever.

  • Feature-length documentary: Buñuel’s Prisoners
  • Interview with director Salvador Simó
  • Theatrical Trailer
