Yoshiyuki Momose, director of the Studio Ponoc short film “Life Ain’t Gonna Lose”, is a former Studio Ghibli animator who served as a key animator for films directed by Isao Takahata, including Grave of the Fireflies and The Tale of The Princess Kaguya. Momose is one of the few animation prodigies who has developed a unique art style combining hand-drawn animation and computer-generated techniques. Examples of his work are collaborative music videos for artists Yui Niigaki and Yasutaka Nakata, and for the game animation of Ni no Kuni. His new film, Life Ain’t Gonna Lose, is based on a true story set in the heart of the city of Fuchu, Tokyo. Momose expresses the deep love, strength and impermanence of family. Expect to be moved by the evolving world of Yoshiyuki Momose.
