General Description:
GKIDS is an independent film distributor focused on the best animation from around the globe. Our films have twelve Academy Award nominations for Best Animated Feature, and GKIDS also handles the Studio Ghibli library of films, including such classics as My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away. Recent releases include Belle, Promare, Weathering With You, and Wolfwalkers.
The Home Entertainment Internship is a new part-time position at GKIDS, working under the Director of Home Entertainment and alongside the marketing and production departments. This position will be responsible for supporting the Home Entertainment department by conducting research on digital and videogram releases including trends in pricing, packaging, and sales. They will also support company-wide data entry, asset organization for upcoming releases, and provide other support as needed.
This is a paid part-time, hybrid position, with flexible hours, based in Los Angeles.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze trends in product design, scheduling, and pricing.
- Conduct research related to all areas of home entertainment business including streaming, digital sales, and Blu-ray products.
- Gather data related to pricing, street dates and sales trends for planning and analysis.
- Keep internal databases related to home entertainment business updated and accurate.
- Support the creation and dissemination of pitch decks and sales materials for streaming services.
- Support Director of Home Entertainment as needed.
Qualifications:
- Detail oriented with proficiency in data entry.
- Fluency in Airtable, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Suite, and Asana
- Ability to work quickly and accurately
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Interest in the film industry generally and animated films specifically.
- Ability to work at our office in Highland Park at least once a week.
