Hear from Weathering With You Animation Director Atsushi Tamura on working with Character Designer Masayoshi Tanaka on how each character was conceptualized from character model, to nuanced gestures that are foundational to the world of Weathering With You.
Formerly affiliated with Studio Ghibli, Atsushi Tamura previously worked as an in-betweener on the animation for classics Princess Mononoke and My Neighbors the Yamadas, and as a key animator on the Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Ponyo, as well as on pieces for other studios, such as Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance.
